Pacáistí Foghlama/Learning Packs
A chairde, Thursday 19th March 2020
First and foremost, I hope that you and your families are all well, both physically and mentally, in this stressful time.
When I wrote to you last we had not received any directive from the Minister for Education regarding school closures. You will now all be aware that schools have been instructed to close. We are still awaiting further guidance around schools being available for children of key workers.
In order to ensure that children can continue with their learning, teachers have prepared packs that can be lifted from 11.30am tomorrow, Friday 20th March. I would ask that you enter the school and come straight to the hall, lift your pack and exit again. This will help to keep us all safe and I thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
I note that many schools are investigating online resources and technological solutions for what might be a prolonged period of remote learning. We are considering these options also and I am aware that not all children have access to such resources at home. I will be in touch again next week with further information for the coming weeks.
In the mean time I hope that everyone remains well and that we can all continue to support each other in the school community and further afield.
Le meas,
Niall Loughran
